why does it seem that there are so many in rural areas?
i hope this doesn't offend anyone... i don't really mean it to be an insult to any of you, cause obviously i consider most of you a lot smarter than some regular jw (or some stereotypical hick).

My apologies. I should have said "first post" instead of "first paragraph." Also, I think it's clear she was speaking of "hicks" here when she said "hillbillies." Do you disagree?

What I implied was that one form of stereotyping is as inaccurate as another. Have you ever heard of an "analogy" or a "simile?"

I would say that sloppy is a more accurate term--nothing to do with socio-economic background.

As far as comparing the stereotyping to black people, I think it's blatantly obvious that most are more sensitive to prejudices in this area. Relating the two is an accurate analogy to help folks see their own prejudices. It has nothing to do with prejudice on the part of the person making the comparison. Now, perhaps you'd like to come up with something cogent to post?
